If you follow us on Twitter, youíll know that two of our little team moved to Melbourne about a month ago. What does this mean for Worcere?

Well, a lot of good stuff.

As we state in the opening paragraph on our list of the best cafes with WiFi in Melbourne, ď...no doubt itís one of the most creative and vibrant cities in this countryĒ. Good reason to move, even better reason to up the focus on growing this area of the site.

Melbourne is undoubtedly a big, exciting city. Coming from Adelaide, this is mind bogglingly so. There is so much to see and do all year round. I love Adelaide and think it has a great start-up and coffee scene. But, smart young people do move away from it - en masse - for good reason. And thatís not to say one canít and shouldnít make their own fun (and opportunity), but there is just a lot more shit - work-wise and fun-wise - happening elsewhere.

According to one maybe-sketchy source, there are over 1600 cafes in Melbourne. Thatís a shit load of extensions of and replacements for the office. At the time of writing, we have 19 cafes listed for Melbourne. Thatís about 1% of places. There is no doubt this city - the CBD and the suburbs - has dozens and dozens of great establishments that have WiFi and power and are run by people that get what youíre doing and are encouraging of it.

Fortunately, my work allows me to spend a bit of time working outside of the conventional four walls. Three days a week I am office bound, but two days a week I work from home and use it as an opportunity to get out and about and change up that scenery. So far, in the few weeks I have been here, I have worked from The Little Mule (CBD), Long Street (Richmond), Atomica (Fitzroy), Journal (CBD), Fitzrovia (St Kilda), and Touchwood (Richmond). A few of these, as you can see by the links, are already listed on Worcere. The others will be up soon. They all make the cut.†

I look forward to my future here in this new city. Making friends with like-minded folk and supportive (morally, and with caffeine!) baristas no doubt.
