Just up from the Italian institution that is La Casa Del Pane, Juniper is part of the gentrification project that is rapidly shaking up this section of Magill Road. Opposite a washing machine repair business, Juniper and its neighbours, provide a necessary place for locals to come, and linger, and add vibrancy to the streetscape.
Juniper is no one breakfast pony. They’re open from early until late, offering up classic dishes with clever twists. The breakfast and brunch menu, at the very least, demonstrates a bit of a penchant for French cookery. This is obvious by the way they execute a croque monsieur. The short answer: freaking well. Coffee is not mind-blowing, but it’s good, and there is a full bar should you want an afternoon tipple.
There is a single power point that we spotted and the place looks devoid of WiFi. A fine place to pop into if you’re after a hearty meal - well-priced too - and can survive on your own data connection.
