Only a short hop, skip, and jump from the big smoke, Mister Sunshine's certainly lives up to is name. A ray of sunshine standing out from the grunge of Thebbys industrial side.
It doesn't matter too much whether it's sunny at Mister Sunshine's. The huge covered area at the front will keep you nice and dry as you spread out over one of the huge picnic tables and get working on that project over a plate of lunchables.
This is one of those places where everything on the menu is served all day. And that's a good thing - it's pretty tantalising and it would be a shame to have to miss out on things because you come too late in the day. Lots of eggs, toasted sourdough and buns, avo and loads - a whole page worth - of vegan options. The coffee is really good, de Groots, and there's stacks of other bevvies. Service - as friendly as you'll find.
Weekend brunch-times sees this place bustling, so perhaps don't hog a table to write that article on those days. But other days, especially earlier and later in the day, are ideal for getting some work done. There's no WiFi (they have 'NoFi' they tell me!) but there are few power points along the wall in the main dining room. Bring your dongle or piggyback your phone, but feel free to plug in and charge 'er up.
