14-16 Francis St, Adelaide SA 5000
Not exactly a cafe, but who said 'coffices' had to be cafes? United Latino Cocina, or UTC for short, is a trendy Mexican-slash-Latin American canteen by the folks behind Lucky Lapitas, Hispanic Mechanic, and a heap of other Adelaide culinary institutions.
On our visit, the place was a bit quiet on account of the Christmas New Year holidays, but it's large dining room that probably doesn't get too intense. The menu looks distinctly authentic and the flavours are there. Spicy, smokey, all you really want in this kind of food, really. We had Quesadilla de Verduras. Seriously - vegetarian food at its best. And great value at $14.90. Drinks range from coffee to soft drinks to juices and beers and wines. Service - they're a friendly and efficient crew.
The bench along the southern wall has one double power point at its end. Nicely positioned too for your phone charger or MagSafe. WiFi is by AdelaideFree and, on our visit, was lightening fast - for free WiFi - and reliable. If you're meeting with colleagues or a client, outside is your best bet.
